資格檢定考試

Qualifying Examination

1、博士生已完成先修科目要求者，可於註冊期間申請參加資格檢定考試。  

Doctoral students who have fulfilled the prerequisite course requirements may apply to take the qualification examination during the registration period.

2、筆試考科「傳播理論」、「研究方法」兩科。採集中考試方式，考試時間為每科2小時，得使用電腦以正體中文或英文答題，學生可攜帶書與（非電子）書面資料作為答題參考。

The written examination consists of two subjects: “Communication Theory” and “Research Methods.” The examination is conducted in a centralized format, with each subject lasting two hours. Candidates may use a computer and answer in Traditional Chinese or English. Students are allowed to bring books and non-electronic written materials as references.

3、考試每學期辦理1次，時間為開學後1個月內。

The examination is administered once per semester, within one month after the start of classes.

4、考試不及格者，得申請重考一次。重考仍不及格者，得於當學期向博士班申請，由博士班主任召集博士班工作小組會議，根據考生之修課情形、學習表現，及兩次資格檢定考試成績，審核並決議是否得再補考一次，否則即令退學。

Candidates who fail the examination are permitted to retake it once. Those who fail the retake may, within the same semester, submit a request to the Doctoral Program. The Program Director shall convene a doctoral program working group meeting to review the candidate’s coursework performance, academic progress, and results from both qualification examinations, and decide whether a second retake is permitted. Otherwise, the student shall be required to withdraw from the program.

5、應於入學後第3學期結束前通過。需補修理論或方法類群先修課程者， 得延至第四學期。

The qualification examination must be passed by the end of the third semester after enrollment. Students who are required to complete remedial prerequisite courses in theory or methodology may extend this requirement to the end of the fourth semester.

專業領域筆試

Written Examination in the Field of Expertise

1、筆試考科一科，以正體中文或英文答題，考試內容由指導委員會依照博士生學習領域決定。

The written examination consists of one subject. Answers may be written in Traditional Chinese or English. The examination content shall be determined by the dissertation committee according to the doctoral student’s field of study.

2、筆試方式，由指導委員會決定。

The format of the written examination shall be determined by the dissertation committee.

3、得於專業領域筆試通過後提報論文題目。

The dissertation topic may be proposed after passing the written examination in the specialized field.

4、博士生修滿應修學分，及通過博士學位候選人資格考核(資格檢定考試及專業領域筆試)，得為博士學位候選人。

Doctoral students who have completed the required coursework and passed the doctoral candidacy qualification examinations (including the qualification examination and the specialized field written examination) shall be recognized as doctoral degree candidates.
