今年研討會主題為Mediating the World in the Digital Age: Politics and Culture of Technological Change，訂於2023年10月26日至28日（週四至週六）在日本東京大學舉行。現今ChatGPT等人工智慧技術的拓展和我們日常生活的日益數位化已經成為有爭議的話題，在媒體、資訊、通信和新聞等許多領域的學者中引起了爭論。在本次研討會上，我們希望更多面向來探討科技的意涵，亦即不僅關注技術面向，並關注其政治、社會和文化的面向。
歡迎本校傳播學院有意參加本屆研討會的博、碩士班研究生在2023年7月24日（一）下午5點前將英文研究摘要（字數：250-800）寄到imics@nccu.edu.tw。請留意，所寄摘要應包括封面頁（見次頁範本）。所寄來的摘要將交由傳播學院教授審查，結果預訂於8月10日前公布在國傳學程網站。入選者亦不需提交論文全文，但須提供海報/投影片（海報/投影片繳交截止日期容後公布）。
本次行程（包括住宿和航班）將由主辦單位和政大傳院共同規劃，入選發表的學生應充分配合。發表人預訂於10月26日抵達東京，次日參加研討會，並於10月28日晚間啟程返往臺北。本院將盡力為每位參與發表的學生支付大部分機票及住宿費用，惟請學生務必知悉，礙於預算有限，發表人仍有可能被要求自己付擔一部分機票、住宿等相關旅費。所有參與發表的政大學生必須在學始得獲得資助。此外，若發表學生未持有中華民國護照，該生必須在出發前自行辦妥前往日本之有效簽證。本屆發表採取海報發表的形式，每位發表的學生須先口頭報告10分鐘後，再接受問答。

Mediating the World in the Digital Age: Politics and Culture of Technological Change
Call for Papers
Date: October 26 to 28, 2023
Location: Tokyo, Japan
This year's symposium will be held at the University of Tokyo from October 26thto 28th, 2023 (Thursday to Saturday). The theme of this year’s symposium is “Mediating the World in the Digital Age: Politics and Culture of Technological Change.” Today, the expansion of AI technologies such as ChatGPT and the increasing digitization of our everyday lives have become controversial topics, raising debate among scholars in many fields, including media, information, communication, and journalism. At this symposium, we would like to discuss multifaceted implications of technology broadly conceived by looking not only at its technical aspects but also at its political, social, and cultural dimensions.
All doctoral and master's students in the College of Communication are invited to submit research abstracts in English (word count: 250-800) to imics@nccu.edu.twby 5 p.m. on July 24th, 2023 (Monday). The abstract should include a cover page using the attached template. All abstracts will be reviewed by the professors of the College of Communication, and the results will be announced on IMICS's website before August 10th. PresentersDO NOT need to submit a full paper for the event, but the poster/slides are required (We will notify you of the deadline later).
The itinerary, including accommodation and flights, will be co-planned by the organizing committee and NCCU; presenters are expected to cooperate fully. Students should arrive in Tokyo on October 26th, participate in the symposium the following day, and depart for Taipei on the evening of October 28th. NCCU will try to cover most of each student's airfare and accommodation expenses, if not all; the student must understand that they may be required to bear a portion of their travel expenses if necessary. To receive the funding, the presenter should be enrolled at NCCU until NCCU wires the funding to you. If the presenter is not a Taiwanese citizen, he/she is responsible for obtaining a valid visa to Japan before setting off. The presentation will take the form of poster style, with each presenter giving a 10-minute presentation, followed by the Q&A session.
